European week 2015
The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and King's College London European Society are pleased to invite quality speakers to share their expertise and experience for a week on ‘Europe and the world, internal and external challenges’ from the 26th to the 30th of January 2015 in King's College London, Strand Campus.
This panel of discussion will be one of many events taking place during the ‘European Week’ that King’s College has been hosting for years. The European week is an annual event, grouping panel of discussions, debates and talks revolving around European issues and aimed at a non-specialist audience, composed mainly of students ad academics. In the previous years, we had the participation of guest speakers such as MEP Daniel Cohn-Bendit, Connie Hedegaard; the former Commissioner for climate action, and Viviane Reding; former Vice- President of the Commissioner.
For the 2014-2015 academic year, we have followed this track and invited prominent speakers that we hope will honor us by their presence.
As you can see on our program, our chosen theme is "Europe and the World: Internal and External Challenges". With this title, we aim at tackling issues such as European diplomacy and foreign Affairs. Among other things, it will lead us to consider the relationship with the United States, the strength of our defense but also the the European internal balance of power with issues such as the Brexit and East-West migration. The names of the speakers are soon to be released.
